Beautiful limited edition set of six small-format lithographs entitled ‘The Struggle Series,’ numbered 176/950, each measuring 5.75 x 8.25, signed on the first lithograph in pencil, “N. Mandela.” The signed print reproduces Mandela’s handwritten description of the series, and the other prints are of sketches done by Mandela that chronicle his people’s struggle; all six also feature Mandela’s facsimile signature inherent to the print. The sketches are entitled ‘Struggle,’ ‘Imprisonment,’ ‘Freedom,’ ‘Unity,’ and ‘Future.’ Mandela explains: ‘These sketches are not so much about my life as they are about my own country.’ An absolutely stunning, scarce set signed by one of the great activist leaders of the 20th century.
Nelson Mandela
In July 2001, Nelson Mandela sketched a series of five humble images that he felt illustrated the chapters of his much publicized life. Mandela completed his sketches in charcoal, adding this handwritten motivation as a sixth element:
“These sketches are not so much about my life as they are about my own country. I drew hands because they are powerful instruments, hands can hurt or heal, punish or uplift. They can also be bound, but a quest for righteousness can never be repressed. In time, we broke open the shackles of injustice, we joined hands across social divides and national boundaries, between continents and over oceans. And now we look to the future, knowing that even if age makes us wiser guides, it is the youth that remind us of love, of trust, and the value of life.”
He titled the work “The Struggle Series.”

Due to multiple entities which include the factory as well as the warehouse, we are unable to completely manage our stock. So the actual stock may fluctuate at any moment. It's possible that you may not receive your purchase after the order has been made.
Our policy is valid for a period of 30 days. If thirty days have passed after you bought your item, we cannot give you a refund or exchange.
The item you purchase must be in the original packaging and in good condition. It must also not be used. The item should be in the original packaging.
